What Does An EICR Report Contain?
Each aspect of the properties electrical installations are observed, tested and subsequently givern a C rating of between C1 and C4.
C1 Ratings Explained
C1 ratings are the most serious defects that our electricians can identify. They present clear and present danger to life and result in a instant failure of the EICR report. The EICR report will strongly advise that all C1 ratings are rectifies immediately, particularly prior to any further occupancy of the property such as lettings occupancy.
C2 Ratings Explained
C2 ratings are serious defects, that although may not present instant danger to life and property could well do in the near future. They lead to an unsatisfactory status of the report. We advise all landlords rectify these defects as soon as possible and prior to any new tenancy commencing.
C3 Ratings Explained
C3 ratings lead to general advisories of defects tot he properties installation systems that should be addressed to avoid further deterioration int he future. We work closly wiht our clients to offer cost effecting remedial solutions to all electrical defects.
C4 Ratings Expalined
C4 ratings are minor defects. We often address C4 advisories when assisting our clients on more serious defect remedial works.
What Happens After My Electrical Installation Report EICR Redbourn
There are two EICR inspection report statuses ‘Satisfactory’ and ‘Unsatisfactory’. If the electrician reports no C1 or C2 codes then your property will pass the EICR as Satisfactory. If any C1, C2 or FI c ode are identified then these will need to be addressed in order to meed a ‘Satisfactory’ pas status.
If the EICR suggests further electrical work i.e the installation of a new consumer unit or upgraded spot lighting etc then our electricians will happily quote you for any required and advised remedial work. You are not obliged to accept this quote but it is also useful to have remedial quotation from the electrician who performed the EICR.
